Prague City Tourism is innovating traditional tourguide services under the Pragensia viva brand

13 April 2022, Prague – Prague City Tourism has launched a new offer of premium guide and educational services. By offering experiential and slow tourism, the company aims to appeal to more differentiated visitors, in line with the goals of sustainable tourism. These products will newly be branded Pragensia viva.

Pragensia viva's portfolio includes premium educational and guide services that the company has innovated and adapted to modern trends. The product portfolio offers services for all age groups, from more junior to more mature clients. The aim of Pragensia viva is to promote the pleasure of getting to know and admire Prague.

Among the first novelties is the product Experience Prague. According to the Pragensia viva creative team, this is aimed at the younger generation and at expats who have been living in the metropolis for some time. The purpose of the product is to show Prague as a vibrant city that is constantly changing and developing. ‘The information a participant gets through our experiential walk compares with the content of the Prague Local Heritage offerings, but is more informally delivered, e.g. by way of a picnic, tracking down movie locations, or along with a bike ride,’ says David Kocánek of the Pragensia viva team.

The Prague Local Heritage courses are also newly extending into the online space. Prague Local Heritage is traditionally aimed at Praguers and in-country clients with a lasting interest in Prague’s changes over time. Under this umbrella, you can now order tailor-made training courses or lectures for corporate clients.

The new portfolio of services goes hand in hand with the new Inbound Tourism Business Roadmap. Through this approach, Prague seeks to compete with other cities, on quality, not price. The company is keen to emphasize not only the variety of services offered, but also their top quality.

‘Our official guides are among the very best on the market. Not only do they have to complete more than a hundred-hours of training, they also participate in an annual regular update course, whereby they grow their expertise. In addition, they undergo premium client care training, and are also bound by our code of ethics,’ explains Václav Novotný, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague City Tourism.

‘By innovating our guide services we aim to surpass the quality on offer in other European capitals,’ says Jana Adamcová, member of the Board of Directors of Prague City Tourism, adding: ‘Our key interest is to raise the profile of our official guides, who are ambassadors of the Prague brand, and to support them with strong marketing.’

The Pragensia viva portfolio includes guide services and the cultural and educational programmes of the Prague Local Heritage and Prague University Outreach initiatives. Those interested can now also sign up for the Experience Prague events.
