Some Prague heritage sites are welcoming visitors once again after almost six months

Prague, 3 May 2021 – Prague is reopening visitor access to some of the most visited monuments in the metropolis – the Petřín Tower together with the Mirror Maze and the Old Town Hall. Prague City Tourism a.s., as the designated tourism curator of eight Prague heritage sites, has implemented several innovations for visitors this year. The organization is taking all steps to ensure that upon re-opening due care is taken to comply with all government measures, and will be asking visitors to pay heed to all hygiene rules so that their visit keeps everyone safe.

“After what seemed like endless months under the pandemic, the opening of the Petřín Tower, the Mirror Maze and the Old Town Hall is the first light at the end of the tunnel on the route back to normal life. Before the situation allows us to open the other buildings and institutions to visitors, we can all at least enjoy the beautiful vistas that our most famous towers have to offer,” says Hana Třeštíková, Prague City Hall Councillor for culture and tourism.

According to Prague City Tourism representatives, visitors can look forward to a number of innovations at the Petřín Tower this year, such as being able to avoid queuing by buying tickets online, or to take up the offer of guided tours, which cover not only the Petřín lookout tower itself, but also Petřín hill grounds in their entirety. Last but not least, a range of discounts now awaits visitors.

“New visitors can count on favourable combined entrance tickets to our other buildings. To give an example, when you buy your ticket to the Petřín Tower, you automatically get a discount on admission to the Mirror Maze, which is right next door. When our other buildings open, tourists will also be able to enjoy discounts to visit those,” says František Cipro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague City Tourism, adding: “We will be opening more of our buildings at the end of the week. We must keep up with developments regarding the pandemic. Our re-openings schedule is under constant review.”

Prague City Tourism is preparing to open other Prague heritage sites on Friday, May 7. Tourists will be able to visit both the Bridge Gate Towers on Charles Bridge, the St Nicholas Bell Tower, the New Mill Water Tower and the Powder Gate Tower. You will find current information about all the Prague sights that Prague City Tourism has under its care, including their opening times and admission prices, at prague.eu.
